Sophia likes to push her technical skills to find the best way to make games visually impactful while meeting technology, design and story related challenges. She loves all that games offer, beyond entertainment, their potential for: education, expanding perspectives, empathy building, self-expression, playful creativity, escapism and facilitating social connection.
Sophia has an artistic background and studied design at OCADU. Wearing many hats on game art teams has given her insight into the different parts of game art production and how they relate to the larger context of the game. In her spare time, she enjoys traditional and digital art making as well as playing the piano.
Three things she finds exciting are:
1. Collaborating with people from different specialties
2. Contributing to projects focused on social or environment-related goals
3. Working on games with innovative mechanics or storytelling
